Format of the Competition
Three rounds of judging will take place. The Panel of Judges will consist of internationally acclaimed musicians, pedagogues and other luminaries form the broader music world. Decisions of the Panel will be final and the Panel reserves the right to withhold any award should it deem necessary.
Preliminary Round: Submission of high quality, unedited CD.
Semifinal Round: Public performances will be broadcast Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7, at the studios of WNED-TV.
Final Round: Public performance on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Kleinhans Music Hall with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, JoAnn Falletta, Conductor.
For those participants advancing to the Final Round, rehearsals will be held on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9, 2012 with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in Kleinhans Music Hall. The orchestra management reserves the right to change the rehearsal schedule.
