2008 Competition Semifinals

Tickets: $19.50 for (1) semifinal performance, $39 for (2)
5 of the semifinalists perform before the judge panel and a live paid audience on Tuesday, June 11. Classical 94.5/WNED-FM program host Peter Hall serves as the master of ceremonies and also acts as the moderator for the judge/semifinalist discussion immediately following his or her performance.
The 5 remaining semifinalists perform before the same judge panel and another live paid audience on Wednesday, June 12. Immediately following the last semifinalist’s performance the judge panel is excused for adjudication. When the judges have reached their decision the 3 competitors that will move forward to the finals is officially announced. These 3 finalists win the opportunity to perform with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by JoAnn Falletta, at the exciting finals concert on Friday, June 13.
For the first time in the Competition’s history, the semifinals will be broadcast live on Classical 94.5/WNED-FM. People from around the world and the home countries of our competitors will have the opportunity to hear the performance of their native son or daughter as well as his or her competition from right here in Buffalo, NY!
