The 3 finalists who moved forward from the semifinals perform with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra before the judge panel and a live paid audience on Friday, June 13. Classical 94.5/WNED-FM program host Peter Hall serves as the master of ceremonies.
Immediately following the last finalist’s performance the judge panel is excused for adjudication and the audience submits their choice for the Audience Favorite Award.
When the judges and audience have reached their final decisions the Audience Favorite Award, Musicians’ Award (as chosen by the orchestra) and then the Judge Panel Award are announced. The judges award 3rd, 2nd and 1st place honors.
The First Place winner of the Judge’s Award receives a total package valued at approximately $40,000 US and includes:
- $7500.00 US,
- Return engagement with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and an appearance with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra,
- Recording Contract with Fleur de Son Classics, Ltd.,
- A concert Guitar Dake Traphagen, USA,
- Karura Flight Case.
Second Prize: $3,000.00 US
Third Prize: $1,500.00 US
